Reel Mental Podcast: Disclosure Day
By Brian Eggert | August 13, 2026
Dear readers (and listeners),
Dr. Marcia Sirota of the Reel Mental podcast had me back on the pod to discuss one of my favorite films of 2026, Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day.
Admittedly, I enjoyed this film more than most. For one, I’m an unabashed fan of Spielberg and science-fiction. So when the director dabbles in that genre, it’s usually bliss for me.
But as you’ll find from my discussion with Dr. Sirota, there’s more to this film than just Spielberg’s formal bravura and some X-Files-worthy plotting. There’s a lot here to discuss about suppressed memories and trauma.
For those uninitiated with Reel Mental before, Dr. Sirota is a board-certified psychiatrist in Toronto. She founded the Ruthless Compassion Institute, has authored five books, and, in addition to Reel Mental, hosts the Ruthless Compassion podcast about mental health.
Thanks to Dr. Sirota for welcoming me back! Listen to the episode about Disclosure Day at the link below or watch/listen here, and be sure to subscribe to Reel Mental.
Check out my other podcast conversations on the Guest Appearances page.
Enjoy!
