KARE 11 – Three Fall Movies to See
By Brian Eggert | October 18, 2025
Dear readers,
Once again, I returned to KARE 11 Saturday, the weekend morning show of Minnesota’s NBC affiliate, to share my thoughts on a few must-see movies today with viewers and anchor Chris Hrapsky.
To start, I highlighted Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, a lavish production and exceptional retelling of Mary Shelley’s original story, as only the Mexican auteur could make. It’s now in limited release and will expand to Minnesota on October 24, before arriving on Netflix next month. Then I recommended Black Phone 2, the sequel to the 2022 horror movie. Now in theaters, the follow-up goes in a new direction, but I appreciated the acting and writing even more than the scares. Finally, I shared my enthusiasm for the latest Kelly Reichardt film, The Mastermind, starring Josh O’Connor. It’s now in limited release and hits MN on October 24.

Happy viewing!
Brian
