The CineFiles ep 22

The CineFiles – Ep. 22

By Brian Eggert | March 26, 2026

Dear readers,

On the latest episode of The CineFiles, critic Jamie Rogers returns! She joins journalist Chris Hrapsky and me to review three new theatrical releases and revisit a legendary Best Picture winner.

We lead off with a review of Tow, a crowd-pleasing drama that finds a vehicle resident taking a stand against a predatory towing company in court. Rose Byrne stars, leading an all-star cast. It’s in theaters now.

Then, we shift gears into horror-comedy territory with Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. If you enjoyed the 2019 original, it’s worth checking out.

Finally, Jamie and Chris share their glowing reviews of Project Hail Mary. (I shared my own thoughts in our previous episode) This massive adaptation of Andy Weir’s novel is currently dominating the box office.

For this week’s CineGift, we look back at my personal selection: Billy Wilder’s The Apartment (1960). This five-time Oscar winner, starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine, remains one of the most perfectly balanced bittersweet comedies ever made. For our next episode, Jamie has selected the 2018 drama Beautiful Boy, starring Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet.

Enjoy the show!
